Cleaning & Prevention
How Clean are Your Pearly Whites? If you had to think about it, you’re probably due for a check up! Your oral health is important to maintaining your overall health. Brushing and flossing isn’t enough! Make an appointment with our sparkling hygienist team for a dental cleaning and preventative care check up.
Brushing & Flossing
Brushing and Flossing might seem like a simple part of your daily routine, however if you are not doing it correctly you could be damaging your gums instead of helping them. Our team will ensure you know how to brush and floss properly in order to prevent future dental problems.
Composite fillings, also known as tooth-colored fillings, use a tooth-colored resin to fill in cavities. The fillings have a natural appearance and enable it to blend with the surrounding tooth structure.
Crown and Bridge
A crown is a dental restoration that completely covers a single tooth with new material. Some people also call it a “cap”. Crowns can be made from many different materials, like gold, porcelain, a tooth-colored metal called zirconia, or any combination of the above. A crown’s purpose is to restore the tooth back to normal shape and function.
This means it will replace any missing tooth structure, reinforce and brace any cracks, and stabilize weakened teeth. Crowns are necessary for teeth that have a significant breakdown due to large cavities, cracks, or extreme wear. We also use crowns to protect teeth with root canal treatments, which are prone to breaking.
A bridge is a dental treatment using multiple crowns connected together in order to replace a missing tooth. The most common is a three-unit bridge, which uses two teeth as anchors for one replacement tooth.
Full Mouth Restoration
Many times our patients are self-conscious about their smile due to injuries, oral health issues, severe grinding, or decay and want a smile that feels and looks healthy. A full mouth restoration is when both the upper and lower teeth are restored together to bring the teeth and bite into normal function whereas a smile makeover is done solely for aesthetics.
If you are missing teeth, you may have noticed that your ability to eat and talk is impaired. You may be embarrassed about your smile and feel inhibited in social situations. Dental implants can give you a new lease on life by providing you with the ability to once again eat, talk, and smile bright. Replacing missing teeth can also improve your facial structure, preventing a sunken look.
Splint Therapy & Night Guards
Occasional teeth grinding and clenching is common and experienced by most people at one time or another. However, for some people, teeth grinding and clenching (bruxism) is a chronic problem. Dr. Young wants you to protect your smile and well-being. She utilizes custom splint therapy and night guards to help with:
- Jaw pain
- Face pain
- Neck pain
- Jaw disorders
- Enamel wear
- Tooth and restoration breakage

If you have stained, broken, misaligned, or fractured teeth, then veneers could be a great option for you. Dr. Young diagnoses and custom designs each tooth to create a beautiful smile.
Using tooth colored filling material Dr. Young is able to restore chipped or broken teeth, as well as cover the entire tooth to improve esthetics. The material is bonded directly to the tooth to allow changes in shade as well as the shape of the teeth. This is a fabulous option for improving esthetics without reducing the tooth structure, which is needed for porcelain veneers.

Dark, stained and discolored teeth have many causes. Coffee, wine, sodas and smoking are most common. Injury and childhood use of certain medications are also responsible for dulling otherwise bright smiles. Fortunately, there are many ways to restore the luster of a faded smile. We utilize Zoom Whitening for in-office treatments and provide take-home whitening kits as well.
Zoom Whitening brightens a smile up to 8 shades whiter in just 45 minutes. You receive outstanding results with little to no sensitivity!
In July we were in Texas for a family get together. During this time we were having family pictures taken and I wasn’t really able to enjoy myself as I was so self conscious about my two front teeth that were chipped. Someone recommended Dr. Young and I was hesitant because my dentist in NC said the only way they could be fixed was to do crowns on both teeth. Long story made short . . . I reluctantly made an appointment and have never been happier about my dental work. I had the most thorough “bite” exam and came out smiling proudly. Dr. Young is personable, competent and I had complete faith in her. She has an amazing staff also. Her office staff and assistants put me at ease immediately. Highly recommend this office.

I've tried at home teeth whitening kits for years but never had any positive results really. I did one short treatment with Dr Young's office and the difference was immediate! In the end, I probably wasted just as much money buying at home kits than what I spent with Dr. Young, plus her office gave me custom trays with prescription strength treatment to take home for follow ups that will last me a long time. I should have done this years ago!
